Synopsis of Alchemy of Souls

The story is set in a fictional country called Daeho, where magic is practiced by mages who can manipulate natural elements. The mages are divided into two factions: Songrim, which serves the royal family and upholds order; and Jinyowon, which opposes Songrim and seeks freedom. The plot revolves around four main characters who are involved in a complex web of soul-shifting magic.

Jang Uk (voiced by Lee Jae-wook) is a young nobleman from Jang Family who has been cursed by his father to be unable to cast spells. He meets Naksu (voiced by Go Youn-jung), a shadow assassin who is regarded as a major threat to Daeho's mages. Naksu performs the alchemy of souls to escape from her enemies, but she accidentally switches her soul with Mu-deok (voiced by Jung So-min), a blind servant girl who works for Jang Uk. Jang Uk convinces Naksu to become his master and teach him her skills as they both fall in love with each other.

Seo Yul (voiced by Hwang Min-hyun) is a young mage from Seo Family who has been raised as a successor to Songrim. He is loyal to Park Jin (voiced by Yoo Jun-sang), the leader of Songrim and his mentor. He meets Jin Bu-yeon (voiced by Jung So-min), the amnesiac heiress of Jinyowon who resembles Naksu.
